Tech-Air® is Alpinestars' electronic airbag system that uses AI-powered crash detection algorithms to deploy protective airbags in milliseconds during an impact. The system continuously monitors riding data through integrated sensors, analyzing parameters like acceleration, trajectory, and body position. When a crash is detected, the airbag deploys faster than mechanical systems, providing enhanced protection to the chest, back, shoulders, and neck. Tech-Air® operates independently without requiring tethers or bike connections, making it versatile across all riding disciplines from street to track to off-road.

Alpinestars offers Tech-Air® systems for different riding disciplines. Road and track riders can choose between vest systems worn over or under jackets, or integrated suits with built-in airbag technology. Adventure and touring riders benefit from systems designed for long-distance comfort with extended battery life. Off-road and motocross riders have dedicated Tech-Air® systems engineered for the unique crash dynamics of dirt riding. Each system is calibrated specifically for its intended use, with algorithms trained on real-world crash data from that discipline.

Tech-Air® systems offer between 25-30 hours of riding time per charge, depending on the specific model. The system uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that charges via USB connection in approximately 6 hours. Battery status is displayed through LED indicators on the system, and you'll receive alerts when charging is needed. The modular design allows for easy battery access and replacement, ensuring long-term serviceability without requiring factory service for routine maintenance.

Tech-Air® compatibility depends on the system type. Vest-style Tech-Air® systems are designed to be worn over or under compatible jackets, offering flexibility to use with multiple garments. However, proper fit is essential for optimal protection—the vest must sit correctly on your body without excessive movement. Many Tech-Air® equipped garments also carry FIA homologation for professional motorsports use. The systems undergo rigorous real-world testing in MotoGP, World Superbike, and other championship racing series, with continuous refinement based on professional rider feedback and crash data analysis. This racing validation ensures the technology meets the most demanding safety requirements before reaching consumer products.
