Innovative Performance: The Alpinestars Force Dispersion (AFD) shoulder construction is designed to reduce shoulder injury risk by redirecting impact forces. The layered, low-friction design allows the layers to slide over each other upon impact, dispersing energy and minimizing direct force to the shoulder.

The innovative AFD shoulder construction features a multi-layer design, comprised or consisting of the external jersey layer, a high-flex, low-friction welded film, an additional circular low-friction welded film, and an inner silicone grip zone in direct contact with the rider’s shoulders. This combination of materials keeps the AFD construction securely anchored in place on the rider's shoulders, with the silicone grip providing stability on the inner side. Meanwhile, the outer layers are free to move and slide over each other, effectively dissipating impact energy for enhanced shoulder protection.
