THE "PINK" CATALOG

Found deep within the Alpinestars archives, a special catalog offers a glimpse into an important era of motorcycle racing, late-eighties style, and Alpinestars history.

Referred to affectionately as the “Pink" Catalog it is a documentation of Alpinestars’ 1989 offerings. RSRV is informed as much by the past as it is by the present and future, so flipping through the Pink Catalog offers a depth of inspiration.

From Kevin Schwantz on the iconic Pepsi-branded Suzuki RGV500, to MX legend Ricky Johnson flexing his signature Bad Boy logo-emblazoned Tech-4 boot, there is nostalgia in this catalog. Colorways, logos, branding, textiles, styles, and people that confirm Alpinestars’ legacy of performance and style.

The 114 Trainer sneaker is confirmation that Alpinestars’ footwear roots extend beyond racing. It is also a reminder of the cyclical nature of style and trend with how seamlessly it fits into footwear design language and themes of today as much as in 1989.

The Gore-Tex tag on the 203 Sun Valley boot is a reminder of Alpinestars' ardent examination of technical materials and cutting-edge textile usage. More confirmation of the perpetual exploration of form and function that lives on in RSRV.

There is inspiration in these pages. Timelessness. Will future RSRV capsules include neon green and pink confetti patterns and calf-high motocross boots? Not likely, but will this glimpse into a bygone era of racing inform the RSRV creative process? Perhaps. Stay tuned.
